Camden Sheriff Announces New Mobile Phone App | Local news

CAMDEN – New app allows Camden County residents to keep mobile contact on Camden County Sheriff’s Office activities and events.

Sheriff Kevin Jones announced on Friday the launch of his department’s new mobile phone app, now available on Google Play and the App Store. To find the app, search for “Camden County Sheriff, NC”.

In a press release, Jones pitched the new app as a way to communicate directly with residents and not have to depend on Facebook and other social media platforms.

“We have direct control over our citizens who receive our communications,” Jones said. “We no longer have to deal with social media algorithms and censorship. We are truly delighted to offer this direct connection to the citizens of Camden County.

The new app comes after the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page was taken down earlier this year by the social media giant. Other sheriff’s departments have experienced a similar situation with Facebook, the statement said.

By accessing the new app, Camden residents can access many features, such as news, events, permit information, employment opportunities, as well as submit a tip.

The Camden Sheriff’s Mobile App was created by TheSheriffApp.com, part of OVC, LLC, a company specializing in building mobile apps for law enforcement and security agencies. public.

TheSheriffApp.com serves over 20 sheriff’s offices in North Carolina, including the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office.
