The phrase “There’s an app for that” now includes matters relating to the town of Dixon.
The city has launched its new mobile app, “City of Dixon”, to provide access to everything the city has to offer.
This includes allowing the public to report issues such as illegal dumping or damage to sidewalks, locating event venues and parks and other facilities, viewing calendars with listings of meetings and events of the city, to consult a searchable directory of elected officials, to access public security. resources such as permits and police report requests, sign up for push notifications to stay up to date with city news and events, and receive up-to-the-minute local announcements such as office closures or alerts of storm.
“The Town of Dixon’s mobile app is an exciting new way for the town to connect with the public and provide additional transparency,” Mayor Steve Bird said in a statement. “The new app goes beyond reporting issues, it gives city staff a way to interact with the public and provide real-time updates.”
Due to the new app, the City of Dixon app FixinDixon is no longer active but is now available on the City of Dixon app. The new app allows residents to report quality of life issues and request certain city services, similar to the old FixinDixon app. Residents can provide city staff with specific photos, videos and descriptions of the issue by clicking the “FixinDixon” icon.
The app is available in Apple and Google Play stores.
