With a complete redesign, the MOFFAS app, LOVA, connects users to a new dimension of AR rendering, Euler, for social networking and information sharing activities. Based on proximity, Euler injects a vibrant human-centric social scene as well as an information portal wherever users go. At the same time, users can post status updates consisting of a Vibin’ emoji and a short text message.
“Just like our browser extension allows users to chat and leave messages on any website and any page, the app follows the same logic,” explained Robyn, founder of MOFFAS. “You can post updates and see what people around you are feeling and thinking about Euler, literally, through augmented reality.”
The new application relies on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology for scanning and broadcasting messages, via the Google Near Message service. Designed with confidentiality and decentralization in mind, messages and user information are not collected by the application and submitted to the MOFFAS server. Account registration is also not required.
“Since it’s proximity-based, we want it to be as private and personal as possible,” Robyn replies when asked about the reasoning behind such a structure. “Personally, I believe in a more decentralized future and in technologies that empower people.”
In addition to Euler, the app also includes a tool to access MOFFAS’ own asset manager, Dawn, which houses and processes asset information, from creative content to physical merchandise, into readable multi-purpose data objects.
“Within MOFFAS, Dawn and LOVA represent the resource side and the consumer side, respectively,” Robyn explains. “The app is an entry point for LOVA to communicate with Dawn. As we develop Dawn, the user can analyze, consume and share more resource data directly on their app.”
