The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau have launched a mobile application, See You In Terre Haute. The app features a collection of community assets and information, including restaurants, accommodations, museums, and other things to do in the community.

The organizations say Terre Haute is one of the few communities of its size to have such an app.

“The goal in creating this app was to provide something fun and effective for the citizens who live and work here in Terre Haute, as well as those who visit. We want to further engage our community and our visitors showcasing the range of assets and things to do,” said Josh Alsip, director of community engagement at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. explore.”

Residents and business owners can submit additional information for application changes and organizations. Terre Haute CVB and the chamber say the app will eventually highlight restaurant specialties and offer promotions.

“We challenge users to interact and offer additional feedback and information,” Alsip said. “We want this to be the community app.”

The tourism industry in Terre Haute and Vigo County attracts approximately 300,000 visitors each year with an economic impact of $30 million.

“There really is no better time to launch a platform like this,” said David Patterson, executive director of Terre Haute CVB. “We are in a time when more and more visitors are coming to town and more and more events are taking place. This application will allow users to interact with the community in a way that they have not been able to do in the past. »
