Thieves got away with cash, cellphone from store, police refuse to register FIR

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Thieves targeted a store in the Samraddhi complex and fled with cash and a mobile phone, a police officer said on Thursday.

The incident happened under Juni Indore Police Station in the early hours of Thursday, the officer added.

It’s the third such incident at the same resort in a year, but police couldn’t even identify the thieves. In the recent incident, the police did not file an FIR before the report was filed.

E-Solutions and Student Xerox store owner Sandeep Ochani told the Free Press that a shopkeeper, who was walking around in the morning, spotted the store shutter up and he informed him around 8 a.m. . Sadeep went there and found a stolen cell phone, money and property. Sandeep immediately informed the police of the incident.

He also reached the police station but the officers refused to take any complaints of cell phone theft. They told him to report the cell phone theft on the “Citizen Cop” mobile app to the police. After that, Sandeep reported the mobile theft incident in the app. Juni Indore Police have not even received a written complaint of theft from the store.

In April 2021, a Mukesh Mali shop in the same complex was robbed. Then the store owner gave the CCTV footage to the police, but the police couldn’t even identify the accused. Prior to this incident, thieves attempted to enter a store in the same complex. Shopkeepers believed all the incidents were committed by the same gang of thieves.
